John Anderson Hired As Thrasher Head Coach

John Anderson

… John Anderson was hired as the new head coach of the Thrashers this morning. Anderson coached Atlanta’s AHL affiliate Chicago Wolves to the Calder Cup Championship last week and has won four league championships with the Wolves as well as a Colonial League title with the Quad City Mallards in 1997, giving him five titles in 13 seasons as a head coach. Prior to becoming a coach the Toronto native enjoyed a 17-year pro career as a player that included 814 games in the NHL where he amassed 282 goals, 349 assists, and 631 points with Toronto, Quebec, and Hartford.

This is great news for Blueland. I can only hope that Coach Anderson can make a smooth transition to coaching in the NHL. I still don’t think it was a good idea to increase ticket prices after such a lame season. Of course I am still sad that we lost Marion Hossa. Maybe by next year I will be over such things.

  • Like, great news, eh? He looks like The White Shadow: “Salami, Hayward! Get your asses in gear!”
Oh wait, you weren’t even born when that show aired. Now I feel old … sleepy … past bed time … where’s the Metamucil….
